The World Report on Violence Against Children notes that “documentation of the magnitude of violence against children shows clearly that this is a very substantial and serious global problem” (Pinheiro 2006, p. 6). The Report emphasises that violence against children occurs in every society and country and has a profound impact on the holistic health and well-being of children. This report also highlighted the importance of equipping parents and caregivers of children with the knowledge and skills to parent without violence.
Along those lines, the thoughts and ideas coming out of this event will be published in a paper that our colleagues, both locally and globally, will be able to use to better serve children and families.
El Informe Mundial sobre la Violencia contra los Niños señala que ” la documentación de la magnitud de la violencia contra los niños muestra claramente que se trata de un problema mundial muy importante y serio ” ( Pinheiro 2006 , p . 6 ) . El informe hace hincapié en que la violencia contra los niños ocurre en todas las sociedades y el país y tiene un profundo impacto en la salud integral y el bienestar de los niños. Este informe también destacó la importancia de dotar a los padres y cuidadores de niños con el conocimiento y las habilidades para padres sin violencia.
En ese sentido, los pensamientos y las ideas que salen de este evento se publicarán en un documento que nuestros colegas, tanto a nivel local como a nivel mundial , podrán utilizar para servir mejor a los niños y las familias.
